Rasheda Shimul, the Senior News Editor at Ekhon TV, has come under fire for allegedly engaging in provocative reporting practices. Her management style has reportedly led to multiple resignations at the station, with others considering leaving due to her behavior. Shimul is said to be particularly frustrated after losing her long-cherished aspiration to become the Head of News at Somoy TV, and this frustration is reportedly manifesting in her conduct._x000D_

Surprisingly, Rasheda Shimul is among the journalists who allegedly aim to discredit the interim government. It is reported that whenever an advisor gives a statement, Shimul selectively edits and distorts parts of the speech to create news stories that could foster public discontent against the government._x000D_

A recent example cited by multiple staff members occurred on the 1st of the month. During a press conference at Dhaka Medical College addressing an ongoing issue, Advisor Nurjahan Begum stated, "We will identify the culprits by reviewing CCTV footage, and justice will be served." However, Shimul was reportedly determined to omit this portion and instead focus on a statement suggesting, "If there is trouble with the doctors, the country will come to a standstill."_x000D_

This is not the first allegation of this nature against Shimul. Since the 5th of the month, she has reportedly been engaging in such practices regularly before broadcasting news, seemingly attempting to turn public opinion against the interim government._x000D_

The chief of Ekhon TV, Tushar Abdullah, appears to be indifferent to these allegations, maintaining a stance that everything is proceeding as it should despite the ongoing controversies._x000D_

When approached by Bangladesh Media Monitor for her comments on these allegations, as well as accusations against her husband, Shimul did not respond. In response, it has been reported that she has increased her alleged mistreatment of junior staff members at the office._x000D_
