Bazlur Rashid: Business-oriented private television 'Ekhon' has been in the news ever since it came on air. Pay disparity, multiple women scandals, the rehabilitation of journalists with radical political views, and unprecedented corruption in and out of office by regular officials have always kept television in the news. As a result, many have left the media._x000D_

Kamal Shahriar, National Desk In Charge, now In Charge of Somay Television, also left "Ekhon". Sources say that Kamal went back to his old company, 'Somoy' Television, after being 'upset'. After going there, Kamal is now making a real mess there, and now he is turning the wheel of Somoy TV's National Desk in a real bad zone._x000D_

Nishat, Rangpur Bureau Chief of Ekhon TV, has recently joined Somoy TV. Despite much effort, Ekhon could not stop Nishat. And the mastermind behind this is Kamal Shahriar, the former national desk in charge of TV._x000D_

Several more reporters and bureau chiefs will be joining Somoy TV soon, multiple sources have confirmed. The preparation has been fully completed by Somoy Television. Many journalists are leaving "Ekhon" due to various reasons, including the negligence of TV authorities and no increment even after 2 years. Representatives of the newsroom and the district are particularly whipping at the behavior of a senior official in the newsroom._x000D_

Recently, a team of higher authorities from Somoy TV traveled to different districts. Through this trip, they are trying to bring about changes in several districts and bureau chiefs before the elections. Their first target is the district representative and bureau chief of 'Ekhon' TV._x000D_

When we tried to contact Kamal Shahriar about this, he told BMM that 'house change' is not new in journalism and media. Which organization a journalist works for depends entirely on his desire. This has been happening for ages._x000D_

He also added that leaving 'Ekhon' and joining "Somoy" TV is also the same case. Those who came here thought of their own comfort zone. Working environment and work opportunities are taken into consideration too. More importantly, their love for this noble work may also be related to communication and coordination issues. In fact, it is purely the personal position of a journalist; there is not much force or influence. But many have left 'Ekhon' and gone to other organizations. Not everyone has come here to Somoy too. So that's that.
