5 Bangladeshi Journalists are being harassed by the flams sabotage case

Niel, Dhaka: Five journalists are being harassed in a case filed by the police on charges of sabotage in the southern district of Magura, Bangladesh. Mohammadpur Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) (Mustafizur Rahman) prepared this case on November 2 on the charges of vandalism and cocktail explosion._x000D_ _x000D_ In this case, the names of 199 people have been mentioned as accused, including local leaders and activists of the major opposition party BNP. 100 to 150 unknown accused Among them, there are five journalists too: Upazila representative of Dainik Ittefak and Vice President of Press Club Mohammadpur, Mehedi Hasan alias Palash, upazila representative of Khabar-er Alo newspaper and founding general secretary of Press Club Mohammadpur, Wohab Biswas, upazila representative of Lok Samaj and Dainik Janata newspaper Tariqul Islam Tara, upazila representative of New Nation newspaper, Rafiqul Islam alias Rafiq Master, upazila representative of Bhorer Darpan newspaper, and publicity editor of Press Club Mohammadpur, Russell Mia aka Russell Mollah._x000D_ _x000D_ Among them, Md. Rafiqul Islam and Md. Tariqul Islam works as a journalist as well as a teacher._x000D_ _x000D_ Md. Rafiqul Islam claimed to the media that on the day of the incident, he was at Faridpur to consult a doctor for one of his relatives._x000D_

_x000D_ Md. Tariq Ul Islam said he was in Jessore on the day of the incident. Md. Wahab Biswas said, 'I am 76 years old now. I used to participate in politics, which was almost 40 years ago. Now I only work as a journalist. I was surprised to see my name in the list of accused in the case._x000D_ _x000D_ The witness in the case is from Dhawail village and they are Hafizur Rahman, Md. Babu Sheikh, and his brother Kabul Sheikh. When local journalists spoke to these witnesses, they said that they were sleeping at home that night, and they were not aware of any incident like that_x000D_ He heard some noises around two o'clock late at night, but no one came out of the house out of fear. After passing some time the police went and called them from their house and brought them to Magura-Mohammedpur road. Showed them exploded and unexploded bomb-like objects. Later, the police took the signature as a witness. However they said they, did not see anyone other than the police at that time._x000D_ _x000D_ After talking to local journalists, we got to know that late at night on the day of the incident, the police called some journalists and asked them to go to collect news about the sabotage and bombing, but, No one went there that night._x000D_ _x000D_ Mahamudun Nabi Dablu, general secretary of Press Club Mohammadpur, said that the time of the incident was said to be between 12:00 and 12:30 in the night. But at two o'clock in the night, our president got a call to go to the spot._x000D_ A lot of questions have been asked about the incident. And again, how professional journalists were accused in the case is also out of human thought.
